 Cinderella's Castle, 3/22/10

Hello, friends!  I just want you all to know that I got back safely from my trip to Walt Disney World.  I will probably write a much longer entry about it tomorrow because I am super exhausted right now, but I will say this:  I entered the Magic Kingdom on Monday and immediately started geeking out.  I remember distinctly thinking to myself, I don't ever want to go home.  And then it hit me.  After May 24th, I won't have to.  On this trip, I was truly able to explore Disney World from the perspective of someone who lives there.  That means I didn't run around like a crazy person trying to see every attraction.  There are rides that I missed.  But I was able to see all the tiny little details that make Walt Disney World such a magical place.  I was able to stand next to two small boys at Illuminations and watch the show through their eyes.  And it was amazing.  I cannot wait to be able to provide that experience to all the guests that will pass through Disney World over the course of my internship.

I will be sharing many, many of my pictures over the course of the next few weeks (I took almost 1,000--yikes!).  However, it will take me quite some time to figure out how to showcase them because I do not want to put more than five pictures in an entry.  Maybe I will do a review of each attraction that I saw and include the pictures that I took.

In addition to this, I will most likely be starting Fashion Fridays on this blog.  In these entries I will stylize a look based on something dealing with Disney:  a movie, an attraction, a theme park, whatever tickles my fancy.  It should prove to be interesting!

Well, this entry has gotten long enough.  I need to go to sleep.  See you in the am!

I finally got my folder in the mail! I'm so excited! It feels so official!

Also, I received my roommate assignment yesterday. My roommate's name is Michele. She's 22 and from Colorado. I have a feeling we're going to get along swimmingly. :)

As far as my Disney vacation is concerned, I have yet to check in. Disney allows guests the option of checking in early so that they do not have to waste time doing that upon arrival (as does my airline). Guess what I'll be doing tonight along with the rest of my laundry? You guessed it!

Until next time! <3

Hello everyone! Today, I am in a frenzy. I just realized that I will be in beautiful, magical Walt Disney World in a matter of days. I am crashing my brother and sister's high school senior trip (don't worry, I was invited!) from March 22 until March 28. I wish I had some of Cinderella's mice to make me a dress because I have no clean clothes left! I am currently frantically washing some of my favorite things to impress Mickey with while making some playlists for the airplane. What are your favorite Disney songs that I should include? What should I do first when I get to Walt Disney World?
Hello, world! I was officially accepted to the Disney College Program as a Quick-Service Food & Beverage Cast Member in the Fall Advantage 2010 Season. I received my acceptance email on March 16 (I have yet to receive my purple folder). I was ecstatic. I was also terrified, scared, and nervous. But mostly ecstatic. I am leaving on Monday for a week-long vacation in Walt Disney World. The week will be sweetened with the knowledge that on May 24th I will be returning to Lake Buena Vista, Florida to become an official cast member. I cannot wait!

Over the course of the seven months I am interning, I will use this blog to update about my experiences with the program. I am looking forward to getting started very much. Until then, I will update with my preparations. So far I have accepted my position and have applied for a roommate. It will be nice to get to know someone ahead of time. I have lived with a roommate before with much success, so I'm not expecting any problems. I just like meeting new people, I guess. :)

I began making a list of things I will need to bring with me to the living quarters. Tomorrow I will most likely look into filling out any necessary paperwork and make a master list of things I need to do before I leave.

Until next time,
Allison
